You have to know what you want in order to get what you want. Do you want to be thinner, have more money, get your degree? Whatever you are aiming for, you can have and you are far more likely to obtain it, or be it or have it, if you can see it! Cut out pictures of what you want. Jim Carey did this with a check. He wrote himself a $20 Million check and just a few months later he was offered the role in “The Cable Guy” for $20 Million which is said to be a big part of the law of attraction. He believed it and he received it. Believing it is easy when you already have a picture of it as if it already exists.

4 Steps To Go From Now to WOW!

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

by Success Expert Sharmen Lane

Does getting what you want have to be difficult?  Maybe.   Maybe not.  What if there is a way, a process, to help you get what you want?

I call this the power process.  It takes you from where you are to where you want to be in four simple steps.

Step One. Define your current reality.  Where are you right now? All emotion, logistics, facts and feelings, write them down.  Be specific.  For example, “I hate my life, everything about it, I hate.  I’m broke, I’m tired, I’m cranky, I’m alone and I feel lost, I feel old, I feel ugly.  I don’t know what to do I just know that this is not what I want."  Write down all the details of your life that you are currently unhappy with.

Step Two. Identify what you do want.  Keeping emotion out of it just write down all the things you want to be, do or have.  If you could write the book describing your perfect life what would it look like? What things would you have? Where would you go? What would you do?  This is your blank slate and you can draw the picture of the life you want.

Step Three.  In a one line clear, concise statement describe your life as in step two.  Keep it short, clear and to the point. Something like “I am a happy, relaxed and comfortable person earning an income of at least $10K per month, and good things simply flow to me with ease”

Step Four. Say or write “I emotionally accept and willingly allow the reality that (insert your one line description here, as in step 3).

This four step process will identify what you are unhappy with, clarify what you want in its place, make the statement to the universe and allow you to do determine if you are truly willing and ready to accept it.

I have used this process thousands of times in my life and have seen it work miracles in others lives as well.  Don’t delay, start today to go from where you are now to WoW!

There are only two fears that exist. Real fears and fake fears. Most of us have fears about things that aren’t even real. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of success, etc. These are not real fears. They are imaginary things we make up in our heads about what would happen if.  In this episode you are given the tools to say farewell to fear!

The 7 Secrets to Success

Monday, August 18th, 2008

by Success Expert, Author and Motivational Speaker Sharmen Lane

I like to keep life simple. There are enough things in life that I can’t control or influence, that are complicated enough so I say keep it simple where you can. That is why I wrote the book titled The 7 Secrets to Create Your Fate. What you are about to read is the cliff notes, if you want the full version you can get the book at your favorite bookstore or online at Borders, Barnes and Noble, or Amazon.com. You can also get it on my website or you can download the audiobook or ebook on my website www.sharspeaks.com.

Step One: Knowin’ Where You’re Goin’ The first step to success is to know what you want. This means if you don’t know where you want to go, you will likely end up somewhere else. Think about the optimal desired end result. When you know where you want to go write it down. And that is all there is to step one.

Step Two:  MAP’in. MAP stands for make-a-plan. Just knowing where you want to go won’t get you there. Antoine de Saint-Exupery who was a Writer, Pilot and World War II hero said a goal without a plan is just a wish.  Just like driving or going on a trip somewhere. If you don’t have a MAP or a set of directions to get you from here to there, you are likely to have a very long and bumpy ride. If you fly by the seat of your pants, you better expect turbulence. Put together some basic step by step instructions to get you from here to there. That doesn’t mean be rigid and not be willing to change them around here and there, but any successful person will tell you that success is achieved in planning.

Step Three: Passion Equals Action. If you are passionate about what you want then you will take action to get it. If you find yourself not “doing” anything to reach your goal then you likely don’t have a strong desire to obtain it. Perhaps you are doing it to meet the expectations of someone else or you are living someone else’s dream.  You don’t have to have passion for what you want but it certainly helps to keep your momentum going and get you through those tough or trying times. Give some thought to the things you are passionate about. Think about the perfect job for you and how could spend your day doing something you love and be excited to get up in the morning and go to work. It’s amazing how work doesn’t so much feel like work when you are doing what you love and have passion for.

Step Four: Lessin’ Your Stressin’. Most people get stressed out when they are giving their time and attention to one of two things, the past or the future. If you take a deep breathe, slow down and get present, you will lessin’ your stressin’. When you get in the moment you are better able to resolve issues because you are dealing with reality. Now is reality, tomorrow is fiction. It’s fiction because it doesn’t exist yet so don’t project into tomorrow. Whatever you are thinking about is not real its just your imagination about what might come next. That makes it fiction not reality. Right now, write down what needs to be done, that’s called a things to do list. Then do the things on the list most important first and least important last. Simply staying in the moment and writing a things to do list will lessin’ your stressin’.

Step Five: Say Farewell to Fear. There are two types of fears in this world. Real fears and fake fears. Real fears are things that could literally cause you physical harm or death. Fake fears are things that only exist in our head. For example, fear of rejection is a fake fear. Rejection is a matter of perception. Fear of Failure is another fake fear. There is no such thing as failure. You likely learned something from the experience, so it was an opportunity to learn, not a failure. One way to know if you are being held back due to a fake fear is ask yourself these two questions. Could “x” cause me physical harm? Could “x” cause me to die? Chances are the answer to both those questions is no and if that is the case you are looking at fake fears. You really have nothing to lose so, take a deep breath and just do it!

Step Six: What You Believe Is What You’ll Receive. If you say you can or you say you cant you’re right! Think about the things you say or the thoughts you have. Are they empowering or destructive? If you believe you can do something then it is far more likely that you will achieve it. However, the same goes for those negative can’t do thoughts as well. To help you believe you CAN have what you want create what I call a visual map. Cut out picture of a house and put a picture of you in the window. I have a check for $1 million from a publisher. I took a real $100 check I’d received and added some zeros by matching the font on my computer and printing it out and pasting it. Then I made a copy and hung it over my bed so it’s the first and last thing I see every day. Now that you can see, you will believe it!

Step Seven: Manifest Your Best. Do your best every single day. Always give 100% of what you are capable of. Something to help you is what I call the 3 C’s to Succcess. They are Commit, Communicate and Create. Get committed to what you want. Think of it as a legal binding agreement. Once you take that approach you will know if you are really in, or not. If not, that’s okay but at least you can move on to something that you really do want. Once you decide that you are 100% committed then you communicate. Tell everyone you know what you are doing. Write it down, read it out loud, tell other people, email them, fax them, etc. The more people you tell about what you are working towards the more accountable you will be. If you keep it quiet and to yourself, you are setting yourself up for failure. Why would you not tell anyone? So that when you don’t reach it, you don’t feel like an oaf. You will work much harder to reach your goal if everyone you know, knows about it.

And those are The 7 Secrets to Create Your Fate. They are fast, simple steps to help you reach your goal and be, do and have everything you ever wanted!

What Makes You Tick?

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

By Success Expert Sharmen Lane.

Can you imagine doing something you love every single day? What a way to live! Right? How many get to do that? I know I do. Everyday I wake up and think I am so blessed to get to do what I love all day. That is a gift that not everyone can to indulge in. I believe the world would be a better, happier place if everyone on the planet lived their passion everyday. However, everyday I hear someone say how unhappy they are with the life they have, but they have no idea what would make them happy. That’s why I chose to write this article on “What Makes You Tick?”

Below is a list of questions to ask yourself to help you find the thing or things you are passionate about. It is amazing how many people will say “I don’t know” or “I’m not passionate about anything,” when asked what are you passionate about or what would you love to do everyday?

So, ask yourself the following questions with no judgments or opinions. Just answer them with ease. Go with the first answer that comes to mind. Don’t over contemplate the answers. Just ask yourself the questions and let the answers flow from you.

Question 1. If tomorrow were my last day on Earth, what would I wish I had done?

Question 2. Do I have a recurring dream or vision about something?

Question 3. What do I feel that I was put on this Earth to do?

Question 4. Do I have something that you deeply care about?

Question 5. Do I find myself consistently thinking about something or having a recurring thought or vision?

Question 6. What are 5 things I am really good at?

Question 7. Ask 5 people what they think I am good at?

Question 8. If I had a week all to myself with no responsibilities, how would you spend it?

Question 9. What are 5 things I really enjoy doing

Question 10. Name one thing I do that hours go by in what feels like minutes?

Now that you have answered all the questions, is there a common denominator? Is that common denominator something you could add into your life every day? My guess is yes. Take the thing that continues to come up and find a way to be, do or have it every single day. Even if only for a minute each day, add it to your life. This is a great way to tap into your hidden passion or childhood dream that was pushed aside for one reason or another. Don’t you think you will enjoy your life so much more if at least once in the day, if not for the entire day, you spend it with something you love?

Remember, it’s never too late to create your fate. Empower yourself and make your life happen by choice!

MAP’in to make it happen

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

"A goal without a plan is just a wish" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.  But a goal with a plan has power.  Just knowing what you want is not enough to get you what you want.  You must make a plan to make it happen.  A famous general once said that success is achieved in the planning phase not the execution phase. This episode is all about the importance of planning and how to put a plan together.  Our guest is Patrick Houlahan, Reserve US Marine F18 fighter pilot who knows and shares the importance and necessity of planning.

How to get what you want using the 3 C’s

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

by Success Expert Sharmen Lane

Ever wonder why some people seem to get what they want easily and effortlessly?  There are some tried and true techniques to getting what you want.  This process is what I call the 3 C’s to Succcess.

#1 Commit.  Are you committed to the outcome?  What is the desired result that you are looking for ?  If you aren’t clear about what you are looking to achieve you certainly aren’t committed to it.

Think of a commitment like a legal binding agreement.  If you sign on the dotted line and are legally bound, are you likely to back out or not fulfill your end of the agreement? Probably not.  If you take that approach to any goal you are setting you are 90% there.  If you are committed to losing weight and sign a contract saying you will weigh ten pounds less than you do now at the end of 60 days, or there will be a $10,000 fine, do you think you will find a way to be ten pounds less?  My guess is yes.  Why does there need to be a $10K fine?  Simply view your goal as a contract, even if it’s only with yourself.  Once you get committed the rest is downhill.

#2 Communicate.  People who are committed to reaching their goal, share that goal with others.  The tell anyone who will listen. They would shout it from the rooftops and take out a full page ad in the New York Times.  Why is that?  Because the more people you tell, the more real it becomes. If you tell one person about your goal and the person next to you tells 100 people, who’s got more at stake?  Obviously, the person who told more people has more to lose.  So the more ways you communicate (write, read, talk, listen, etc) and the more you communicate it to, the closer you will be to your goal.

#3 Create.  Once you have decided that you are truly committed to your goal, and you have written it down and read it out loud, and shared it with others all you have to do now is take action .  This is the easiest of the three steps.  It’s easy to do when you are committed and have told everyone you know about what you are working towards. The most important thing is to “do”.  Do something that is actively working towards your goal every day. Before you know it, you will have what you want and will have created your dream to make it a reality.

Follow the 3 C’s to Success.  It’s a simple tried and true process that will help you reach your desired goal faster and easier than you ever thought possible.
